Recently I got a chance to visit the Melghat Tiger Reserve due an election campain,Inside the forest ,I came across some amazing facts about the tiger reserve.So I am uploading some cool snaps for you.

There are so many things which have had a lot of influence on the tibal life of Melghat right from tribal folk dance GADHULI & so many others.But in my opinion one thing which touches the every aspect of tribal life of melghat is the DAMANI(mini bullock cart).As u can
see in the given snaps of damani,it is a smaller version of traditional indian bullock cart.special kind of bulls are
required for damani.medium sized bulls of height around 4 feet are generaly used for damani.when compared with
traditional bullock cart,damani is far more superior than the previous.light in weight, can carry the load of 200kg

Three persons & load of around 80 kg can be easily transported with damani.as i mentioned earlier medium sized bulls are required in order to mantain the parallel with the horijontal.wheels are coated with rubber around the circumference to have smooth journy.
so with having such things fascilities bulls are able to pull the damani with much ease & faster than bullock cart.
so obviously one can find the roads of melghat traficked with no of damanis on the ocassion of weekly market, marriages & so many events.so next time when u will visit the melghat, do enjoy the ride of damani.if u can not manage the things, do contact me,i will make it happen for u.

COST SAVING PROJECTS AT MELGHAT

Government has started some cost saving projects in Melghat. For that the example could be the bridge connecting the village KALAMKHAR & GOLKHEDA, constructed on the GADGA River.one will get definetly surprised after getin g the history of this bridge.Interesting fact about this bridge is that this bridge was initialy constructed on the PURNA river ne ar the village ASEGAON-PURNA near the PARATWADA in the BRITISH era.when government decided to renew this bridge , at the same time people of Melghat were facing very serious problem from long time.

Village Kalamkhar & Golkheda is devided by the river GADGA.before having any bridge there only way to go to golkheda , one has to pass through the river GADGA.But in rainy season it was very hard to pass the river bcoz of flood water.Not only GOLKHEDA, but including it thirteen numbers of villages were remaining disconnected during the rainy season, so keeping in mind the same problem government decided to do some different at this time.At first they dismantled the bridge of ASEGAON -PURNA, which is made of steel structures. then using those steel structures & cement-concrete this brige was succesfuly reconstructed on the GADGA river.Not only this aspect is interesting, but also another amazing side of this work is,this bridge required Rs. 55 Lakh. other wise it would have required Rs. 2.55 Crore to construct .so saving the valuable Rs. 2.0 Crores. some of snaps I have uploaded here.It is very beatiful to see this site in the rainy season. this village KALAMHAR is located on INDORE-AMRAVATI State-High way, 8 km away from DHARNI.

MELGHAT:TRUTH BEHIND THE MUCH HYPED "KUPOSHAN"(malnutrition,Under nourishment) & LIEING NGOs

When the name Melghat comes across somebody,one always used to think about MALNUTRITION.When I was working with BOSCH CHASIS SYSTEM, Jalgaon,I came to know a joke about the MELGHAT & it's malnnutrition.The joke goes like this- a town arranges a competition for healthiest cat, so a very much healthy cat wins the medal as the "healthiest cat".but while giving the award,somebody unavails the secret at the eleventh hour, that this is not a cat as all of us are convinced,but it is a "UNDER NOURISHED TIGER of MELGHAT" But blogger wants to make it clear to the folks that there no such thing like unnourishment, malnutrition or"MELGHATATIL KUPOSHAN"(malnutrition in Melghat) as projected by media or by few selfish NGOs.government has provided lots of facilities to the Tribal people.they can have rice, wheat at just 2 or 3 rupees per kelogram.Government provides them loans for long period of time.even there are such laws that non-tribal person can not buy a land from these KORKU tribal people.But a tribal person can buy land from non-tribal person.
The very basic reason behind the malnutrition is the illiteracy of tribal people. These tribal people of melghat are very superstitious.If somebody is not feeling well,then instead of consulting a physician , they used to go to the "BHUMKA"(person having devine powers ,as per the faith of the KORKU tribes).Also another but the most important reason is the TRADITION OF MARRIAGES TAKING PALACE IN TINAGES.KORKU tribes are carrrying out such tradition. boys & girls used to get married at the tinages less than 20 years. here their illiteracy plays an imporatant role for producing unhealthy babies. After giving birth to the baby, there should considerable gap of time for having second pregnanacy.But these KORKU TRIBES never follows this protocol.There is no gap between two consecative pregnanacies.Since because of earlier pregnanacy, mother already needs lot of nutrients & duration of time to recover from weakness.the same required time duration is not given to her.so how much she can take care of her baby at the next pregnanacy? how she can produce a healthy baby?so now question would arise in one's mind that why the media,NGOs are creating much hype about malnutrition of MELGHAT?if you will see the geography of melghat, its a green area. I know very well about these NGOs. because I am from melghat itself.I know, there is a doctor who lives with his wife in distant village in hilly areas which is about 40 km away from DHARNI, the biggest town in MELGHAT.Once I was there with my uncle for a personal reasons. Ya, I agree , to live in that kind of village,located in the dense forests of MELGHAT TIGER SANCTURY, is not a joke. even myself will never wish to live at such a place as my village is situated outside of forest.But that doctor always tries to keep the MELGHAT in limelight for malnutrition with some of his colleages.He is having his NGO(Non Governmental organization).He receives lots of funds from foreign countries like BELGIUM,from government etc. Now he is having the land more than 200 acres located around DHARNI. This is one case. there are so many NGOs which are named after using the KORKU language of Melghat. these NGOs want to get more & more money from any available sourse they can have.There are so much problems in Slums of mumbai like malnutrition, unhygine, I want these NGOs to there. why only in MELGHAT you want to take care of people? Instead of providing fundsto these NGOs, government should take measures like making tribal people literate, tell them about hygine etc.

RESEARCH IN KORKU LANGUAGE OF MELGHAT

RESEARCH ON KORKU LANGUAGE OF MELGHAT -DESCOVERY OF SANSKRIT WORD

KORKU is the language spoken by korku tribes of MELGHAT.In korku language,SPIRIT(liquor ie rum, whiskey etc.) is refered as "SIDDU" .This word is derived from SANSKRIT Word "SIDHU" which also means spirit(liquour).Blogger has descovered this fact accidently.Once I was going through the Aurvedic medicinal masterpiece "CHARAK SAMHITA" Adhyaya no. 25-YAJJYA PURUSHIYA ADHYAYA of SUTRA STHANA.This chapter is concerned with the types of spirits,methods for producing these spirits.According to CHARAKA SAMHITA spirit can be classified into seven types, viz-1)ARISHTHA 2)ASAWA 3) SURA 4) WARUNI 5)DHANYAMLA (ie produced from food grains like wheat, jawar etc 6)SHUKTA 7) SIDHU. Incidently last type ie SIDHU is being used in KORKU language.Also it is intersting to know the fact that older generation of KORKU tribes still uses the word SIDHU ie the exact SANSKRIT word.But the younger generation uses the word SIDDU. Also another word used by KORKU tribes is SIDHA means food grains, flour etc., which resembles with the SANSKRIT word SHIDHA which means food.

TRIVENI SANGAM & AMNER FORT

This TRIVENI SANGAM ( ie meeting of three rivers) is ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN MELGHAT.It is located on the AMRAVATI -BURHANPUR ROAD, near the village BHOKARBARDI which is about 10KM from DHARNI

TAPI-GADGA-MADHAVA TRIVENI SANGAM & THE AMNER FORT OF MELGHAT

Sangam of three rivers TAPI, GADGA & MADHAVA is still ignoured tourist spot in the Melghat. I can say it is one of the most beatiful place in melghat that one should never miss the chance to see it. Beside this there is the old AMNER FORT.i have posted the snap of this fort here

My village , sweet village---BABANDA.my village is very small village or I can say its PADA what we say in marathi.still I love my village very much. its popualation is about 700. Ninty percent of population is covered by KORKU tribals.its very beatiful place to enjoy the vacation.

One can feel the magic of silence here. this village comes under MELGHAT REGION.I have posted some snaps of my village, there you can see romantic sunset, green farms, primary school.My village is about 2 km from the town KALALMKHAR , which is on the INDORE-NAGPUR STATE HIGHWAY. you can see here a beautiful MAHADEV TEMPLE.

Melghat.......... when this name comes across anybody, one used to think about so called malnutrition(kuposhan), tribal people. but i want to tell you one thing, come here feel the
beaty of this land, the jungle , .Traveling with a bike through the jungle is a very nice experince. specialy the way from SEMADOH to CHIKHALDARA. This road is exactly a ZIG-ZAG way.
one has to drive the bike carefuly.since one can not predict when the U-Turn will come across.
One can see the animals like sambar. rabbits, nilgay on the road or beside the road in the evening or after that. if you want to see the tiger coming across your way,then i will urge
you to drive yourself on DHARNI -DHAKNA Road.In this side this Melghat tiger sanctuey is more dense as compared to the DHARNI-AMRAVATI Road.
SEMADOH is famous for its wildlife museum. there is park inside the museum. there are HUTS, VILLAS to stay there.staying in these huts is a very beautiful experience. To reserve these huts,one has to contact the office of MELGHAT TIGER RESERVE , PARATWADA,(amravati).CHIKHALDARA is the only place in maharastra which cultivates the COFFEE. Melghat is having many tourist attractions like Gugamal national park, Dhakana-kolkaz national park. if you want see wild life closely you can have accomoadtions here in these national parks.there is kolkaz guest house & Dhakana guest house in side the forest.out of which Kolkaz guest house is a very
beautiful as it constructed beside the river Sipna. so one can see the wild animals at night , when they used to come to have water.

WELCOME TO CHIKHALDARA

CHIKHALDARA is a hill sation of vidharbha in amravati district,It was discovered in the year 1823 by Captain Robinson of Hyderabad regiment.It is located at an altitude of 1100m above sea level .it is very much good as compared to other hill stations like mahabaleeshwar, matheran i mean it less crowdy than those ones. I have posted some snapsof it.A mythological story is concerned with the CHIKHALDARA regarding MAHABHARAT. Acording to this mythological story, this is the place where BHIMA killed the the daitya KICHAKA & thats why the name -KICHAKDARA , which became CHIKHALDARA by the time. Also one can prove this MAHABHARAT connection correct by giving one proof. when BHIMA killed KICHAKA at that time PANDAWAS where living in the empire of KING VIRATA. interestingly the name of a village near CHIKHADARA is VAIRAT.Also there is point in CHIKHADARA called BHIMA KUNDA. Main tourist attractions here are Bhimkunda,sunset & sunrise point,Hariken pint, mozri point,shakkar lake,Panchbol point. also other attractions are Gavilgad fort.
